Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about buying, financing, and servicing your RV.

Finance Questions

RV loan rates currently range from approximately **6.49% – 13%+ APR** depending on your credit score, loan term, and down payment. Most buyers with good credit (700+) qualify for rates in the 7%–9% range.

Loan terms range from 60 months (5 years) to 240 months (20 years). A longer term lowers your monthly payment but increases total interest paid.

Example: A $60,000 RV financed at 8% for 180 months = approx. **$574/month**.

We work with 12 preferred lenders to find the best rate for your situation. Pre-approval takes about 15 minutes.

Stand-out warranties:
- **Jayco**: 2-year comprehensive

Yes — standard auto insurance does not fully cover an RV. You need **dedicated RV insurance** that covers:

- **Comprehensive and collision** (like auto)
- **Full replacement cost** for new RVs (important in the first 5 years)
- **Personal effects** inside the RV
- **Vacation liability** — coverage while the RV is parked at a campsite
- **Emergency expense** coverage if your RV breaks down far from home

For full-timers, you'll also want **full-timer liability** which extends coverage like a homeowner's policy.

We recommend getting quotes from Good Sam Insurance, National General, or Progressive RV. Rates typically run $500–$2,500/year depending on the unit and coverage level.

RV Lifestyle Questions

A **travel trailer** connects to a standard ball hitch on any capable truck or SUV. A **fifth wheel** uses a special kingpin hitch that mounts in your truck bed, requiring a pickup truck. Fifth wheels offer superior towing stability, more living space, and typically a bi-level bedroom suite — but at a higher price point and requiring a heavier-duty truck.

For families with a half-ton truck, travel trailers are often the better value. For full-timers or those with a 3/4-ton or 1-ton truck, fifth wheels offer an unmatched living experience.
Your truck's **tow rating** is the maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) it can safely pull. You can find this on the sticker inside your driver's door jamb or in your owner's manual.

**General guidelines:**
- Half-ton trucks (F-150, RAM 1500, Silverado 1500): up to ~8,500–10,000 lbs GVWR
- 3/4-ton trucks (F-250, RAM 2500, Silverado 2500): up to ~16,000–18,000 lbs GVWR
- 1-ton trucks (F-350, RAM 3500, Silverado 3500): up to ~20,000–25,000 lbs GVWR

**Important:** Always match to GVWR (not dry weight) and account for your payload (passengers, gear, water, etc.).

Our sales team will verify compatibility for your specific truck and RV — we do this for every customer.
